East Asia Minerals Enters Into Strategic Advisor Agreement With Dr. Fadel Muhammad

 Vancouver, BC - September 18, 2012: East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSXV:EAS) ("EAS" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that is has entered into an agreement with Dr. Fadel Muhammad, to act as Strategic Advisor to the Company with respect to the Company's Indonesian assets.

Bapak Dr. Fadel is a very well-known figure in Indonesian Political and Business circles. He, will provide assistance to EAS with respect to both its existing concessions in Miwah, Aceh Province and Sangihe, North Sulawesi, as well as any concessions it may acquire in the future.

Bapak Dr Fadel was, until recently, Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sea in the current government, having previously served as Governor of Gorontalo Province in Sulawesi. Bapak Dr. Fadel has served as Vice President of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He has also been the Chairman of the Al Khairaat Foundation, a leading institution in Islamic education serving eastern Indonesia.

Bapak Dr. Fadel is the owner of the GEMA Group of companies which has interests in manufacturing, fabrication, oilfield services and publishing.

Bapak Dr. Fadel studied at the Engineering Science & Industrial Technology Faculty of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and obtained his PhD with cum-laude in Public Administration from University of Gadjah Mada

Dr. Fadel Muhammad may be granted stock options of the company, in future, subject to receipt of board and regulatory approvals, including the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange, in consideration for his services to the Company.
