East Asia Minerals Appoints VP Business Development

Vancouver, B.C. --September 6-- East Asia Minerals Corp. (TSXV-EAS) is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. J.T. Lionel Martin to the East Asia Minerals Team as Vice President -- Business Development. To facilitate the changes to management structure, Michael A. Hawkins, previously the Vice President of Business Development has changed his portfolio to that of Vice President -- Exploration. Dr. Antony Page, previously Vice President -- Exploration has left East Asia Minerals Corp and will pursue other opportunities.

In his role as VP Business Development, Mr. Martin will be responsible for project generation and acquisitions. He will also work closely with both Mr. Bradish and Mr. Hawkins in the management of company personnel and exploration programs. Mr. Martin's broad experience will be instrumental in furthering the Company's activities in the East Asia region.

Mr. Martin is an exploration geologist with over 25 years experience focused throughout Asia, PNG, Africa, and North America. He is recognized as an effective explorationist in a diversity of geological environments and in programs ranging from target generation and early stage exploration to advanced stage drilling of volcanogenic massive sulphide and copper-gold porphyry mineral discoveries. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Carleton University, Ottawa, and has worked for Natural Resources Canada, Eldorado Nuclear Limited (Cameco Corporation), and most extensively for Noranda Inc. As past Exploration Manager for Australasia with Noranda Inc., he has championed a number of exploration and business initiatives, and was instrumental in advancing technical and geopolitical understanding of the Australasia region. This work included a major exploration and development agreement in Papua New Guinea, leading to significant and ongoing exploration investment. Mr. Martin also developed a Corporate Drill Core Sampling and Analysis Protocol and a robust QA/QC program for the collection, sampling and analysis of diamond drill core that exceeds NI 43-101 reporting requirements.

Further to East Asia Minerals' exploration philosophy of "drill and drop or drill more", the company has terminated the option agreements on Tavt and Yammat projects located in Western Mongolia and returned the properties to the vendors. Exploration programs that included drilling indicated limited potential to find economic mineralization that met the Company's objectives.
