East Asia Minerals Appoints Michael Nayyar as Chief Financial Officer

VANCOUVER, B.C. -- Tuesday, September 29, 2009 -- East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSXV-EAS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Nayyar, CA as Chief Financial Officer, effective September 1, 2009. Mr. Nayyar has more than 15 years of financial strategy and operational experience in a number of industries, including mining and exploration.

"Michael is an accomplished individual whose accounting skills, business experience and enthusiasm will be an asset to East Asia as we continue to grow."

Mr. Nayyar began his career in public practice with an international accounting firm providing assurance, business advisory and taxation services to private and public clients. Since leaving public practice, Mr. Nayyar has gained significant experience with public company accounting and financial reporting for Canadian and US companies. In addition, he has consulted on initial public offerings, corporate re-organizations and business advisory assignments for various clients. Mr. Nayyar is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.

In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Nayyar will be responsible for the accounting, financial management and regulatory affairs of the Company.
