East Asia Minerals Continues to Enhance Its Management Team with the Appointment of Frank Rocca as Vice President Exploration

 Vancouver, BC -- September 24, 2012: East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSXV:EAS) ("EAS" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Frank Rocca as Vice President, Exploration of East Asia Minerals Corporation.

Mr. Rocca will have primary responsibility for development of the East Asia Minerals exploration team and for leading the Company's exploration program for the Sangihe project, in addition to EAS's other assets. Mr. Rocca has more than 24 years of senior leadership experience in exploration and mine development geology. Most recently he was a Director and Senior Consultant with Dragon International Geological Services Pty Ltd., where he fulfilled roles including: Project Manager, Chief Geologist and Mine Superintendent. Prior to that Mr. Rocca was employed with African Barrick Gold as Technical Services Manager, where he oversaw the mine design and development of the Buzwagi and Tulawaka Mines. Over a six year period, he also held the position of Chief Geologist overseeing establishment of the Geology departments for both mines. He was also a key member of the management team which awarded mining, drilling and blasting contracts. Mr. Rocca has also held several other leadership and senior management positions at Gindalbie Gold NL, Barrick Gold Australia and Perilya Mines NL, to name a few. Mr Rocca holds a Bachelor of Applied Science -- Geology from Curtin University of Technology and is a member of AusIMM.

Mr. Rocca may be granted stock options of the company, in future, subject to receipt of board and regulatory approvals, including the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange, in consideration for his services to the Company.
