East Asia Appoints Kohlmann to Corporate Communications

 VANCOUVER, B.C. -- June 28, 2006 -- East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSXV: EAS) is pleased to announce the addition of Nickolas Kohlmann to its senior management team. Based in Toronto, Canada, Mr. Kohlmann will be in charge of Corporate Communications, marshalling the Company's marketing and investor relations efforts and contributing to corporate strategic planning.

Mr. Kohlmann has worked in the exploration-mining industry for 26 years, of which the past nine have been focused on the communications and financing aspects of the industry. He has designed and implemented investor relations, marketing, and investor/broker outreach programs for numerous junior exploration companies, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) and most recently as Vice President at CHF Investor Relations in Toronto. Previously he worked as an exploration geologist and project manager in Africa and North America for various companies, including Santa Fe Pacific Gold Corporation, FMC Corporation and US Gold Corporation. He graduated in 1980 with a M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
