East Asia Minerals Discovers New Copper Prospects at Khok Adar

VANCOUVER, B.C. -- Tuesday, November 14, 2006 -- East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSXV-EAS) announces that its property-wide exploration efforts have identified five new copper targets, defined by mapping and +1.0% copper surface rock samples, within its 145,350 hectare Khok Adar property. These exciting prospects offer significant blue sky potential for additional deposit discovery and increasing the Khok Adar copper oxide inventory.

Regional scale mapping and sampling completed within the East Asia Khok Adar property during September and October, 2006 have defined the Ulaan Khatuu Extension, Halzan Uul, Shardavaa, Tsagaan Chuluut and Muu Khoshuu copper prospects, located five to fourteen kilometres west of the EC1 copper oxide deposit (locations and detailed assay highlights are available at www.EAminerals.com).

The Ulaan Khatuu Extension, located 14 kilometres west of the EC1 deposit, hosts several persistent mesothermal copper bearing vein systems. Quartz veins, ranging in width from 0.2 to 15 metres have been mapped along 1.0 to 1.7 kilometres of strike and remain open. They contain malachite, azurite, pyrite, galena and limonite. Chip samples have returned assays up to 1.55% copper over 5 metres.

The Halzan Uul copper prospect is located 8 kilometres west-northwest of EC1. Skarn bodies occur parallel to the east-west bedding of the host rock, which is similar to rocks occurring at EC1. Northwest striking, southwest dipping quartz veins with weak malachite, pyrite and chalcopyrite mineralization have been mapped. Initial results include 1.23 to 2.04% copper in rock chip sampling over widths of up to 4 metres.

The Shardavaa copper prospect, located 2.3 kilometres north of the Halzan Uul prospect, hosts several quartz veins over a 1.7 kilometre width, containing malachite, azurite, pyrite and minor chalcopyrite. One 0.2 metre wide by 15 metre long vein returned assays up to 3.6% copper. Another vein, 0.1 to 1.2 metre wide is 70 metre long and has assays up to 1.37% copper. A 7.11% copper sample of strongly limonitic schist with malachite was collected from a historic Chinese ore dump.

The Tsagaan Chuluut copper prospect is located 6 kilometres northwest of Halzan Uul, and has a similar geological setting. Grades up to 2.06% copper over 0.5 metres have been obtained from quartz veins.

The Muu Khoshuu copper prospect is located 5.4 kilometres west of EC1 and consists of a two metre wide mineralized diorite dike. A sample taken across the width assayed 1.03 % copper.

The 2006 field program at Khok Adar is complete. East Asia is currently preparing a 2007 work plan and budget proposal that shall include additional drilling in the Baruun Bayan, EC1, EC2 and East Zone 1 areas, and follow-up ground work with initial drill testing of the new regional copper plays. The prime objective is to outline additional copper oxide deposits and extensions.

Samples reported were assayed at SGS Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Cross check samples are assayed at Actlabs also in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. East Asia Minerals conducts a rigorous and continuous QA/QC program, which is detailed at www.EAminerals.com.
