East Asia Minerals Appoints Dr. Darryl Clark as VP Exploration

VANCOUVER, B.C. -- Wednesday, August 25, 2010 -- East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSXV-EAS) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Darryl Clark to the East Asia Minerals' Team as Vice President, Exploration, effective immediately.

Dr. Darryl Clark (MAusIMM), a graduate of CODES, University of Tasmania, is an exploration geologist whose work has taken him throughout the Australian, Central Asian and South East Asian regions over 17 years. His work over the last 10 years has seen him involved in a diverse range of technological, political and cultural environments with unique challenges.

During previous corporate roles with both Vale and BHP Billiton, and with consulting work (SRK), Dr. Clark has been responsible for focusing business development strategies and designing multi-commodity (Ni, Cu, Fe, U, Coal, Au and Fertilizers) exploration programs. These roles include: Country Manager, Vale Mongolia; General Manager, Vale Minerals Exploration Australasia; Geology Manager - MinEx BHP Billiton.

In commenting on the appointment of Dr. Clark, Michael Hawkins, President and CEO of East Asia Minerals said that "We are delighted to welcome Darryl to East Asia Minerals, and see our ability to attract someone of his calibre as further testament to the quality of the projects and personnel in the Company."

In his role as Vice President, Exploration, Dr. Clark will be responsible for leadership and management of the Company's exploration programs worldwide, creating and managing a pipeline of resource projects leading from early stage exploration to near production phases, and actively working towards business development opportunities. Dr. Clark will be instrumental in furthering the Company's success.
