East Asia Appoints Investor Relations Team

 Vancouver, British Columbia - August 3 , 2012: East Asia Minerals Corporation (TSXV:EAS) ("EAS" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has improved its investor relations team with two new appointments. Michael McAllister has been appointed as Manager of Investor Relations and the Company has also contracted with the Faye Cortellini Consulting Group, a boutique Investor Relations firm based in Europe, to assist EAS in its investor relations efforts. This team bolsters the Company's previous efforts and will provide much needed assistance working on the presentation of EAM to its shareholders and future investors.

Mr. McAllister has been employed as an investor relations officer within junior metals and mining sector for the past two years. Prior to that, he was employed with BMO Capital Markets in the Metals and Mining Group. Mr. McAllister's appointment is effective July 1, 2012 for a one year period. Mr. McAllister will be paid $833.33 for July 2012, $1,666.66 for August and September 2012, and $3,333.33 per month from October 2012 onwards, which will reflect his increased involvement with the Company going forward. Mr. McAllister may be granted stock options as part of his compensation. Mr. McAllister shall not be engaged in any market-making activities and does not hold any securities or convertible securities in the Company.

The Faye Cortellini Consulting group is a boutique firm led by Jacklyn Currier, whose group will assist EAM in media based assistance, and which operates out of Europe with offices in London, Paris and Berlin. The Faye Cortellini Consulting Group, appointment is effective June 16, 2012 for a one-year period. The Faye Cortellini Consulting Group will be paid up to CDN$3,000 per month for their efforts pursuant to a consulting agreement entered into between EAS and the Faye Cortellini Consulting Group. The Faye Cortellini group may be issued stock options in the future as may be approved by the Board of Directors and any other regulatory agencies. Faye Cortellini Consulting Group shall not be engaged in any market-making activities and does not hold any securities or convertible securities in the Company.
