Miwah is a high-level, high sulphidation epithermal gold prospect.
In May 2011, East Asia Minerals Corporation announced that Mining Associates Pty Ltd ("MA") had provided an initial NI43-101 compliant resource estimate for EAS drilling to date at the Miwah Gold Project. Based on 71 diamond drill holes the Inferred Resources, using a 0.20 g/t gold cut-off, are estimated at 103.9 million tonnes averaging 0.94 g/t gold and 2.68 g/t silver for 3.14 million ounces gold and 8.95 million ounces silver in near and at surface mineralization.

Cut-Off Grade Au (g/t) Tonnage (Mt) Grade Contained Metal
Au (g/t) Ag (g/t) AuEq* (g/t) Au (Moz) Ag (Moz) AuEq* (Moz)
>0.2 103.9 0.94 2.68 0.98 3.14 8.95 3.28
>0.4 84.9 1.08 2.96 1.13 2.95 8.09 3.07
>0.6 61.1 1.31 3.36 1.36 2.57 6.60 2.68
* Gold equivalents have been calculated assuming the two year trailing average metal prices and used a gold price of $US1,185 per ounce, and a silver price of $US20 per ounce for a silver to gold equivalency ratio of 56.42:1. Gold (Au) recovery is assumed 95% and silver (Ag) recovery is assumed 85%.

Based on the Company's work Miwah is resolving into two components; a large, thick, flat lying tabular zone (Miwah Main Zone) that daylights at surface and defines the southern extent of the upper ore body; and vertical high grade breccia feeder zones that are contained within Miwah Main Zone. The resource estimation was largely constrained by the available drilling to within the Miwah Main Zone portion of the large Miwah Gold Project, and remains open for expansion. The reported NI43-101 inferred resource block measures 1300 metres east-west, up to 600 metres north-south, and 300 metres thick from the summit of the Miwah hill.

Closer spaced drilling is required to upgrade Inferred Resources to the Indicated classification, whilst step-out drilling is required to determine the extents of the gold and silver mineralization which remain open in all directions. Exploration drilling continues with the objective to expand the footprint of the resource with a corresponding increase in both grade and tonnage. This exploration program will generate the next phase of data required to provide an update to the initial Miwah resource estimate.

The Miwah Main Zone remains open in all directions with great potential to the north in the adjacent area known as Moon River. Exploration success in Moon River will expand the north-south footprint of the Miwah deposit to more than 700 metres, whilst future potential remains open further to the north towards Sipopok. Drilling has already extended the Miwah Main Zone to the southern boundary of Moon River. Sampling and mapping west of the Miwah Main Zone in the Signal area has identified alteration that could potentially expanded the east-west width another 600 metres and remains open.
In the southern extents of the exposed, tabular Miwah Main Zone East Asia has over 2,000 metres of rock sawn channel samples which average 1.2 g/t gold (see summary table below). In addition to the tabular zone the Company has begun to characterize some of the discrete breccia feeder zones, with rock sawn channel samples including 83.59 g/t gold over 24 metres and 20.14 g/t gold over 12 metres. Recent drilling has supported this. These feeder zones have great potential to develop into substantial tonnages of higher grade gold mineralization in an area adjacent to the Main Miwah Gold Zone.

The Miwah Property is in a very similar volcanic setting to the Martabe gold-silver deposit, also located in North Sumatra (Purnama and Baskara resources: 127.8 million tonnes at 1.4 g/t gold (5.5 million ounces gold) and 15 g/t silver (60 million ounces silver), and the alteration system is of a comparable size. Miwah also exhibits a likeness to the size, style and geometry of the alteration system developed at the Pierina gold deposit in Peru (67.7 Mt grading 2.98 g/t gold and 22 g/t silver, giving a total 6.49 million ounces gold and 47.9 million ounces silver)*.

* EAS has not verified the classification of the resource references and is not treating them as NI43-101 defined resources and reserves verified by a QP.
Although the references of resources are relevant to recognizing the potential of the Miwah project, they should not be relied upon.
