Abong Epithermal Gold is a near-surface, low sulphidation epithermal gold prospect.

The gold system, as defined to date, is contained within a major northwest trending corridor up to 800 metres wide and currently traceable for over two kilometres. Gold mineralization at Abong occurs within a flat lying, near-surface, 10 to 15 metre thick jasperoid sheet. This expansive blanket contains a series of elongated, northeast oriented higher grade (4 to 6 g/t) gold zones that are surrounded by extensive areas of 0.5 to 1.5 g/t gold mineralization.

During 2008 EAS drilled 8,657 metres in 130 holes at Abong. The drill campaign achieved an extremely successful rate of intersecting significant gold intersections. This work will provide sufficient data to calculate an initial NI43-101 resource estimate during the first half of 2009.

The gold mineralization is still open along strike in both directions and potential is high for the discovery of significant new gold zones within extensions of the Abong structural trend. EAS intends to resume drilling at Abong at a later date.
